The Cyber Talent Acceleration Programme (CTAP) is a national initiative by CyberM8 designed to fast-track high-potential cybersecurity and software development talent from TVET Colleges and Universities into South Africa’s public-sector cybersecurity ecosystem.

Powered by the HackSecure Innovation Challenge, CTAP identifies top-performing youth and provides a structured pathway that includes advanced training, international exposure, innovation incubation, certification, and deployment into government systems.

The programme is focused on building locally developed, standards-compliant cybersecurity solutions, while enabling youth to participate meaningfully in the digital economy through employment and enterprise development.

CTAP is a multi-phase talent development and innovation programme that connects skills development with real-world cybersecurity implementation.

The programme pipeline includes:

  • Talent identification through HackSecure
  • Skills acceleration and specialised training
  • International exposure to global cybersecurity practices
  • Innovation and incubation through national platforms
  • Certification and compliance through SABS
  • Deployment into government systems via SITA
