On 29 October 2025, the Second Annual Cybersecurity Indaba was held at The Innovation Hub in Pretoria under the theme “Next Gen-Cybersecurity: Innovating for Tomorrow’s Challenges.” The Indaba was made possible through the support of its sponsors, Absa and IITPSA, along with supporting partners CSIR, UNISA, and MICTSETA. The contributions of all partners were invaluable in bringing the event to life, including providing a platform for selected abstracts to be presented, highlighting innovative research and practical solutions in cybersecurity.
Building on the success of its inaugural edition, the Indaba provided a dynamic platform for knowledge sharing, innovation, and strategic dialogue. Attendees included industry leaders, policymakers, cybersecurity experts, and enthusiasts, all gathered to tackle emerging challenges, explore technologies, and discuss strategies to strengthen cybersecurity across multiple sectors.
The day featured a robust program of keynote addresses, panel discussions, abstract presentations, and networking, designed to foster collaboration and the exchange of ideas. Highlights included deep dives into cybersecurity best practices for safeguarding digital assets, and forward-looking strategies for preparing organisations for tomorrow’s threats.
Participants praised the event for its high-impact content and opportunities for engagement, noting that the Indaba not only highlighted critical issues but also showcased practical solutions and actionable insights. With this successful gathering, the Second Annual Cybersecurity Indaba reaffirmed its position as South Africa’s premier platform for cybersecurity thought leadership, inspiring collaboration and driving progress in the digital security landscape.
As the cybersecurity landscape continues to evolve, the Indaba remains a must-attend forum for those committed to protecting digital infrastructure, advancing innovation, and preparing the next generation of cybersecurity leaders.
